OK, I went out to dinner last night with my son and his family ( his birthday dinner ), we went to the Texas roadhouse steak place, great food but a little pricey for my tastes. Anyway, like usually happens, my grandson and me got a little wild. We recorded his voice shouting 'Hey get outa da car !'. I've edited that GameMIDlet package and added it into it. Now, it sounds pretty cool, my grandson will get a kick out of it, since he's on it too.
I'll send the code and sound files to Kat to post if anyone wants _________________ There are 10 kinds of people in this world...those that understand binary and those that don't. |

Hey Rick, I haven't got any recent code from you. If you have newer code I'll be glad to host it for you. _________________ -=[ Kat ]=-Experimenting can lead to wonderful discoveries. |

OK, I now have another silly little game called 'pong'. It was another tutorial that I went through cuz I got a little bored. Anyway, it gives you another look at how they use the j2me ( java micro edition ) classes to make games for the smartphone platform. And, if you wanted to include more functionality, or less, that is possible by using the WTK ( wireless toolkit ) 'settings' tab and changing around the API's to your preferences.
I'm also playing around with another app that queries the GPS satellites directly without going through any carrier data link ( if the GPS chip is onboard your phone ). I'm trying to understand all this, it's all new to me.
Anyway, I'll contact Kat and try to send this package. You'll install it like the other one, just create the Pong class with no other path name, then tar xvfz Pong.tar.gz into the src dir of the new class, then you can move the MANIFEST, Pong.jad and Pong.jar files into the bin dir of the new class ( or not ). Just make sure the xxx.java files are in the src dir. Then you can recompile and run, and make whatever changes you want.

hmmm now where am I on this ? I've reinstalled the OS on this computer a couple times, and our two year contract has run it's course for my phones. Now I'm going to sign up with a new carrier, 'Consumercellular', and probably get the Samsung A177, which has a jvm, so I can mess with it too, haha. I thought you could use any GSM phone on a GSM network, but the tech I talked to said only their phones would work. Probably he was told to say that, I have a little while longer to think about this. This company uses AT&T's line, which is who we are with right now, but they are cheaper, and it's month to month, with no contracts.
ok, now I have to find this pong thing again, lol _________________ There are 10 kinds of people in this world...those that understand binary and those that don't. |
